Contest rules

The contest is open to any student who studied abroad on a UC Davis study abroad program (UC Davis Quarter Abroad or UC Davis Summer Abroad) or any UC Davis student who studied on the UC Education Abroad Program during the 2008-09 academic year (during fall quarter or semester 2008 though end of Summer Session II 2009). But the voting is open to anyone.

Deadlines:

Oct. 12–Nov. 1: Submit to the Education Abroad Photo Contest Web site.

Nov. 2–15: Invite your friends, family and fellow travelers from across the world to vote for your entry.

Winners in three categories will receive:

Winners will be announced Nov. 16 during International Education Week.

The contest is sponsored by the UC Davis Education Abroad Center, University Outreach and International Programs, Student Affairs, the Community Book Project and University Communications.

UC Davis reserves the right to deem a photo “inappropriate” and/or ineligible for competition. Failure to follow the guidelines and/or falsification of information on the entry form will result in immediate disqualification for the contest and forfeit the student’s claim of any prize money or other items.

By submitting photos for this contest the individual authorizes and consents to the use of his/her name, photograph, and likeness by the Regents of the University of California without reservation or limitation. The submitter agrees to receive no compensation. Property rights to any photographs of the undersigned produced or prepared by the Regents of the University of California, or any agent thereof, pursuant to this authorization and consent, shall vest in and remain with the Regents of the University of California.

Said photographs of the undersigned may be used via print, the Web and any over-the-air and/or closed-circuit broadcast transmission facility. The undersigned by his/her signature below waives any cause of action for personal injury and/or property damage by virtue of the taking and use of photographs as herein described by the Regents of the University of California. This authorization and consent shall be binding upon the undersigned heirs, successors licensees, agents and assigns, and shall be governed by the laws of the State of California.
